Cheers for all of your help and advice. I'll definitely back the drag off.
I haven't had a problem with my 7ft rods, or taking my 12ft on the smaller rods. I often take 3 rods, but my 12ft gets really unstable on the highway with wind and high speed. I'll look at a telescopic 12fter or a 3 piece though.
Thanks for taking the time with the diagram mishachief, but I've got dual exhausts which stick out at the tale and force the pipe out at an angle. I tried the pipe a while ago but it sticks out too much and I can't get my legs over it. Also a lot of people attach pipes to the pillion foot peg mounts, but mine are angled forwards which makes an eye level joust!
Cheers again everyone

Re: Advice and tips on night fishing
When fishing the dark always take a moment to survey your environment to work out how and where you will land a big fish if you do get one. Especially if it's rocky, slippery, high off the water or hazardous in any way. Better to have a plan worked out (and landing net or gaff at the ready, or net-man worded up) than to bumble around and lose a good fish or hurt yourself in the heat of the moment.
When fishing off rocks I look for a good big flat rock close to the waters edge that I can safely land the fish from.

Oh also have a plan for how you're going to mount that 5kg gummy/snapper on your mororbike!
