almost had a decent pinkie at black rock last night. jumped off the hook while i was swinging him onto the pier and bounced off the one of the mooring posts at the end. plenty of bait stealers around though so you'll have to do the time

Those little ones have eyes bigger then mouths & agree with the banjo comment. They seem to be in plague proportions at the moment.. Get one no matter where I am, even when I catch nothing else..

Witnessed a 4.5kg Snapper being reeled in at Altona Pier the other night... Nasty conditions that night but 12ft surf rods and small (whole) pilchards as lure made for a tasty treat to the local fisherman!
Double hook paternoster rig with diamond sinker.

the decent sized pinkies have arrived in northern PPB. Best fishing is when there is a strong southerly. Nhillboy's spot is also producing.

WD , yep those big reds are in western port , they left port albert a few months back, been hanging in western port lately , and should be moving their way more south again to Port Phillip Bay by October. Get the last of them while you can in WPB before they move on down to PPB.

Full small fresh Squid still seem to bringing in the reds in WPB.

Cheers , Rick.
..Yeah doin a detour toward PPB

Some "just legal" pinkies turning up in the Yarra mouth area now. Still have to fish through the micro pinkies though.

Went fishing with my mate last night and picked up a 38cm pinkie. A few more bites as the night progressed but the circle hooks didn't pay dividends last night as the pinkies sucked my garlic scented chicken off.

Almost forgot it was at north wharf rd at docklands.

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
