Always hard to judge the size of a fish in a photo, here's a couple I caught back in my Snapper fishing day in 1973.

My ol' mate Billy (may he RIP) is holding them.. the one on the left went 13.7 kgs & the one on the right went 12.3 kgs..

Oh, they weren't taken on whiting gear either, snapper rods & overhead reels were the go in my boat fishing days when fishing for snapper..

There have been quite a few snapper taken on whiting gear for years, a lot of whiting fisho's in Sth Aust will use 12-15lb line or heavier for that very reason..
