They're getting bigger. another PB Red.
Things don't look like slowing down anytime soon for me... seriously.
With my buddy Josh still in uni exam period, getting him out on the water hasn't been the easiest. And so far with me winding them in every trip i told him regardless, your winding them in today. I was reading the conditions on Fishranger, with it saying a max of 15 knots. Josh said the water was flat as anything at Mornington. After some weather predicting of my own i made the call and we were off.
Got down to Yaringa at 4pm, headed out of the channel and parked in a bait spot of mine. Straight away Yakkas & a Trevally
With enough bait in 10 minutes of fishing, down to my SPOT X we went. I dont know what is wrong with these weather sites.... but im so glad i made the decision to take the chance. FLAT AS! GLASS!
We anchored on my mark. Got a spread out of fresh yakka, trevally & frozen fresh couta.
10 minutes in, 2 pinkies & lots of bites, looking good as usual. Activity is key.
10 minutes after that, a rod buckled and screamed. Not too big of runs, i called it for a 4kg. oh how i was wrong....
Cruising back to the boat... i should've known better. The best part of the fight was the end. Dogged it out for a solid few minutes, and thats when we knew this was a serious fish.
Came to the surface and my eyes shot up. In the net and landed. YEW! Barometer continued to drop dramatically all the way down to 1008. no good. Headed back to Yaringa mid slack water and weighed this puppy. Well.. both our eyes just shot up. 6.93kg Snapper aka 7kg What a season. I am honestly never going to forget this week! 15 fish since Sunday! I am more motivated than ever, i want BIG RED.
Cheers guys. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask :a_goodjob:

Great fish well done. You must be on a serious high after trips like that.

Good reds, well done, cheers davo :a_goodjob:
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
