Fishing out from Black Rock in 9 metres in my mates boat on the weekend...
My rod buckled oved and as I picked it up, I somehow lost my grip on the rod handle, and over into the drink she goes!
I was gutted, lost a big fish, my Daiwa Sol Reel and Shimano Jewell Snapper rod.... about $500 all up.
Cursed for a few minutes in shock as to what had just happened in that split second.
We decided to move the boat and drift over the area again.....
To cut a long story short, I hooked up to another large fish, an when I pulled it up, I had actually hooked onto my Daiwa Sol 9 metres below!
So got my rod and reel back with a 62 cm Snapper still attached. :whoh: :super:
There were high fives all around!
Best regards

Re: Snapper fluke or what?
tatts ticket anyone ?
Great effort, I dunno what I would do if I lost a combo like that over the side  doubt I would go home though as the missus would castrate me.

Some people are just lucky.
500 dollar outfit, I would have dived over the side to get it.
