Jigging for Snapper
I know it's early, but I thought I'd start getting organised for the upcoming Snapper Season...lots of sales on, boat shops don't have a 3 month waiting list and it's nice being indoors tying rigs and reading on a cold, wet winters day.
Anyway, I'd like to try some different techniques this spring....I enjoyed reading Fitzy90's stories last year on his sessions drifting over schools, but I'd like to know if anyone has had much luck jigging for snapper? (or any other unusual techniques that seem to work well?)

Re: Jigging for Snapper
Hahahah your pretty keen by the looks of it..
ill be trying some bait this time around lolll.
but the usual softplastics will def get a workout.
some people have luck micro jigging for snapper, ive personally never tried it.
i will be trying to see if i can nab one on a sinking hardbody though.

Used vibes with good success before the micro jigging craze hit. They'll take anything. Not a fussy fish at all

Re: Jigging for Snapper
I will be giving these a crack as I've got a tonne that I got from Kmart at a bargain...
Whether they work or not... only time will tell.

Re: Jigging for Snapper
I made a few of these up on the weekend (with a small sinker shoved into the head). The idea was to hook a whole pilchard through the head and bottom bounce it so it looked like a squid trying to eat a pillie.

Would quite like to give this a go, but Westernport doesn't seem so conducive to it...
