Snapper - Where you at?
Hi Guys, new to the forum and love what I am reading!
A fairly new fisho here... I have read up a lot and would say I am fairly knowledgable but still lacking that big catch! My father in law and I bought a Brooker 525 centre console discovery which is great for fishing..... but like I said.... struggling to put fish into it!
Anyway, we are looking to head out tomorrow (17/11) morning and are trying to decide between sounding along Black Rock and Ricketts or heading out from St Kilda to the T11 marker which I have read a bit about.
Given the conditions tomorrow, any advice on where we should start?
Thanks in advance :water: :water:

Yep definitely after the snapper..... they are escaping all of my efforts recently... including charters and our own expeditions! Thanks for the tip, we were planning on heading out at 5am so we might start earlier.
I'll be certain to let you know how we go!

Yeah, you want to anchored up, with all you rods set and a decent trail of pilly cubes before first light. They seem to bite hardest between first light and sunrise.

There's no "X" marks the spot I'm afraid, get out early and sound around in reefy and well known spots is all you can do, once the boat traffic starts kiss your chances goodbye.yepi'mon wrote:Yep definitely after the snapper..... they are escaping all of my efforts recently... including charters and our own expeditions! For sure, exactly what we are finding out!.... I think a big part of our struggles has been thinking what we were seeing on our sounder was snapper... Tomorrow I don't think I will anchor up until I am sure what I am seeing are some decent fish (now that I know what to look for).hornet wrote:

Sometimes just fishing a drop off and burly will do the trick early in the morning.yepi'mon wrote:For sure, exactly what we are finding out!....
