Lightest tackle you've caught snapper on?
Hey guys just a bit of a topic to have a bit of a show off and tell us what's the lightest line/rod/reel you've caught snapper on. And preferably tell us the size of the snapper too. I've never been fishing for snapper as I moved from Northern QLD to Bendigo, Victoria, a fair way inland, but I plan to as soon as the chance arises.

5kg+ on 7' graphite, 4500 Sienna running 20lb line and leader.. I realize that's not very light but that's the lightest outfit i caught a decent one on last season..

I've managed a 3-4 kg red on a 2500 reel, 6lb braid with 20lb leader, 2-4kg graphite rod. I reckon i could possibly get a 5kg on the same outfit.

in WP a 55 cm red on my whiting gear 8 lb line and no 6 owner mutu circle
and PPB a 76 Cm red 10 lb Ebay braid on a $ 13 Ebay reel
both kayak caught fish
and my PB a 91 cm ( 8.55 Kg ) from Westernport on a 10 kg outfit with 20 lb mono
you can get away with ligher gear in all the northern parts of PPB as there is little tide flow

7+ kg fish on a dodgy little telescopic rod on old 20lb line land based in the Yarra.
