They will still have greater overheads due to the cost of running a shop.4liters wrote:By having an online outlet themselves. All the major online tackle stores have an associated retail store as well or the importers wouldn't supply them.rb85 wrote:How's a retailer to compete with online stores?
It's nice to snare a bargain but using an online service to save a few bucks will make it more difficult for tackle shops to survive.

I always try to shop at the smaller independent stores...I don't mind paying a little bit extra if it means keeping them in business (you cant beat hands-on expert advice and they keep the big guys honest)4liters wrote:By having an online outlet themselves. Same with me Matt try to support the smaller guys. Try not to use BCF and drive past cranbourne to other retailers.Mattblack wrote:I always try to shop at the smaller independent stores...I don't mind paying a little bit extra if it means keeping them in business (you cant beat hands-on expert advice and they keep the big guys honest)4liters wrote:By having an online outlet themselves. The way I see it is the retailer can make a profit either by selling bulk items at a cheaper price
OR
Make a profit on individual items at an inflated price but less items.
I think Most online retailers go for the selling bulk for less cost per individual item but end up making more profit because of more items sold.
Just my opinion.
