Squid Jig ID?

Post by TrevKing » Mon Apr 28, 2014 9:02 pm

Hi guys, sorry - bit of a boring post here,
but something I need help with.

I'm trying to decide whether this jig is cheap & nasty or a good quality jig. I've had it for quite a while so I can't remember what brand it is.

Can anyone ID it for me?

Image

ALSO - it has a large rip in the cloth down its underside, should I look into fixing this somehow or would it be a waste of time?

Thanks in advance. :)

cheap, rays outdoors jig. To fix the cloth, use a blunt tool to poke it back in the groove, in the body and then run some cheap super glue over it, works a treat

If it isn't one that consistently catches squid chuck it in the bin and buy another

Thanks Brett, might give it a go in the next couple of days.

Haha wish I could say that I do have a jig that consistently catches squid, but I'm only new to this squid fishing.
But yeah, currently saving up a bit of money to get some decent jigs. Might contact Tacklenut to see what he has to offer. :)

Give it a few more goes before you bin it
had a $2 jarvis walker jig that caught me squid consistently (one of those plain glow in the dark ones)
and a yamashita that caught me nothing but a snagged and broken heart
sometimes you get those random cheap lures/jigs that just seem to do the trick

And ya like Brett said, superglue works wonders. sometimes I superglue the seams on my cheapies as a preventative measure
Gone :snap:

That jig is rogue I think, and is my favourite jig of all time. On consecutive occassions, it's out fished expensive jigs 3:1

I'd say its cheap because when you buy the more expensive jigs the cloth dosnt usally rip unless you've caught a heap of squid on that jig.
