Hey guys need some info on the best SP for chasing Aussie Salmon

Never used them before and would like to have a go. Seen a bloke casting and retrieving
With an excellent strike rate. :fishing: :fishing:

Most of people will say using metal slug is better than SP. You can cast further, and retrieve fast, as aussie salmon tend to strike on fast movie shiny object.

If you really want SP, then I was told white colour SP is the go. Doesn't really matter the shape, but white colour is the way to go. But for me, it does matter what colour. Got my PB (40ish cm) on a turtle back pumpkinseed. But I dropped one on a swimming mullet (actually busted my line, as I don't use leader on SP), I didn't get to see the size, but feel alot bigger pull than the PB one.

Peter today at sorrento with the salmon going nuts a few guys were using SP and they caught their fair share as well but then they got busted off and switched over to lures. To answer your question though I didn't see what colour they were using as it was pretty hectic lol

I have seen them being chased by dolphins.

I have got mon bare jig heads and even put a cigy but on a jig head and caught one.

try some berkley gulp in the curltails or turtleback worm in the pumkinseed colour works well
the minnows also work real good, but just winding them back in wont work have to use the jerking motion, just rip the rod tip up a few rimes and let it sink down..

otherwise the soft plastics with a fish profile and paddle tail they impart action when you retrieve
