Trout v metal vibes

Post by Huckleberry » Tue Jun 11, 2013 3:43 pm

Just wondering if it is worthwhile having a go with vibes on trout from the shore? - have a collection of metal vibes consisting of TT's & Strike Pro. I've only caught bream & flathead on these. Any feedback is much appreciated. Cheers. :set1_fishing:

I have found that lures like the rapala cd05 in brown trout or rainbow trout pattern are excellent for trout. Vibes are great in deeper water but in streams where it's not very deep maybe on a few feet then it makes it very hard to use them properly but the rapalas work excellent.

Cheers Steve

Thanks fellas - might give them a go in the lakes where there is a drop off & deeper water. Otherwise I'll stick with spinners & hard bodies.

depends what lake you go to but i think you will catch more redfin on metal vibes, a guy at karkarook was using cheaper metal vibes (he lost a couple of the expensive ones to snags) and catching some reddies.
id go the rapala's mentioned above, but if u get snagged it can be quite expensive.....olinda creek at the bottom of lilydale lake has a nice brown trout CD5 of mine!!!! :wall:
goodluck!
