Hardbody lures 20-40mm

Post by Alwaysloud » Mon Apr 22, 2013 8:52 pm

Hey All,

I've been searching all over google and ebay trying to track down a hardbody lure either in blade/hard plastic between 20mm to 40mm but that ways at least weighs between 9grams - 20grams. I am finding hard to track down the size of length i am after with a heavier weight in it.

I have come across the Yo Zuri " http://www.yo-zuri.com/OnlineStorePics/ ... s/Hero.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; "

But it only comes in 1gram was more after something like that that is atleast 10grams just so I can get abit of a distance on the cast.

Would attaching a small round running 9gram ball sinker help or will it affect its way it swims ?.

Thanks in advance

Chances of getting a hb in that weight and size are slim, as that much weight on a small lure will almost totally inhibit its action.

I'm guessing it would affect it's action. Can't help you out with any options either.

lipless?
sinking?
Floating?
Suspending?
rattling?

look for yo-zuri edge. Unfortunately, these are 70mm at least.

Rapala has smaller lures. Try Rapala Clackin Rap

These blades are close to what you are looking at:

There is one which is 1/4 once which is 7 grams and length is 43 mm

-What are you fishing for?
-Why do you need specifically that size?
-Why do you need such a heavy lure is it for casting distance?

If it is for distance Daiwa Double Clutch lures cast a mile for a HB and have a great action bout 70mm but very slight. One of my favourite lures.

Others that come to mind for casting distance.-

-Daiwa Presso- Double clutch shallow running version slightly smaller to.
-Cherry Bloods
-Atomik minnow 50.
-Rapala cd5

Or you could go with tassie devils and other metal/resin wobblers.

All these lures will catch anything from mini reddies and bream to maxxy trout and EPs and everything in between

The fish I'll be chasing are just panfish saltwater/freshwater fishing around the mouth of rivers.

What setup are you running? Lure weight isn't the be all and end all of casting distance. For instance I can lob a 2.5gm Smith Camion ~15m without any real effort on a Shimano Adriot 1-4kg/Daiwa Sol 2000 running 6lb Sunline Super PE. Can also throw a Zipbaits Khamsin JR at 4gm a country mile on the same setup, again with little effort. There's no ~40mm lure to my knowledge that's over 5gm, and vibes aren't much more than 7gm. Not even my larger Bass lures are heavier than 8gm
