Snap swivels vs knot straight to the lure?

Post by Keepitreel » Mon Jun 04, 2018 4:29 pm

I've always tied my knot straight to the lure but I really like the idea of snap swivels for convenience and quick swaps of a lure.

What do you guys use? Any one better than the other?

I always use snaps for lures or squid jigs for easy change overs, but I do believe you loose some contact / feel of the lure at times. If fishing soft plastics always tie direct so your in constant contact with the jig head.

I use a lure clip for squid jigs and small hard bodies. Roller bearing snap swivel for larger hard bodies and larger soft plastics but for light soft plastics I tie them on using a loop knot

Are there many benefits with a lure clip over a snap swivel?
