Anyone used Savage brand sp's?
BCF have Savage bulk lure kits on sale, including line: http://www.bcf.com.au/Product/Savage-MP ... ded/543410
Has anyone used Savage sp's before? If so, any opinions?
I'm a sp beginner, have recently tried using some cheap Jarvis Walker sp's from K-Mart with mono line, but no luck. Hoping to actually catch something soon!
I'm wondering whether this kit is worthwhile, or if I should just shell out for some well regarded sp's like z-man/gulp/etc.

I haven't used them. They Appear to be low end stuff from what I can tell in the picture you linked. They will still likely catch the not so fussy species like salmon, tailor and flathead. If it was me, I wouldn't buy this and instead grab a few different weight jig heads in about a 1/0-2/0 in 1/16,1/8,1/4oz and some zman curltail grubs (motoroil colour is a personal fav) in 2.5-3.5 inch. This will probably set you back a few more $ but I think it's a better investment than the savage stuff you're looking at.

Like Skronkman said above... better off buying some better quality gear. While the cheap stuff may work... better off going to the tried and tested priducts... especially being new to soft plastics. I 100% vouch for zman soft plastics... basically all I use.

I would buy that kit so quickly just out of being a tight wad LOL, I still might, flatties are not fussy and it is probably in the way that you use it so a good kit to learn with.

I once tried those JW Kmart SP's, and even when the reddies were just about eating anything that moved a few yrs ago I never caught 1 on them. Iv had good success on Berkley grubs and T Tails as well as Yums and Bozo's. Ha ha, though my success is probably a fair bit lower than others here, I spend more time fishing than I do catching but still love it.

Re: Anyone used Savage brand sp's?
Don’t touch them they are the worst sp I have ever had. They came in a pack with the savage gear rod, reel, braid and leader for $99 a few months ago. I could break them in half just using my index finger and thumb, I think it’s a different material from the more expensive savage gear sp. I didn’t even give them a go, threw them straight in the bin and just kept the tray they came in. Definitely get a good all rounder pack of zman sp instead
The zman 2.5” curltail grub in pumpkin seed colour or 2.5”slim swim in motor oil colour are pretty good all rounders and I have no doubt one single zman sp will outlast the whole pack of those lures
