lure storage

Post by Nude up » Tue Jul 04, 2017 3:20 pm

As I sit at home on my days off full of a cold I decided to do some maintenance on my fishing gear.
My hardbody lures mostly the xrap 20 30's and 40's halco's etc are kept in plano boxes some with drain holes. They are crammed in and get tangled together some have singles some with trebles.
Has anybody seen any better boxes I have been looking on the net but can not seem to find any I really would like boxes that have individual compartment like the double sided squid jig boxes that take my smaller hard bodies.
I am keen to see how other people store there xraps

I actually like those plano boxes.

After a day fishing in the salt I just spray the whoke box in fresh water and let it dry in the sun.

So far ive kept the salt off the hooks and rings

Me too washing in fresh water is the only way to go if not they rust fairly quickly. I carry a fold up container and at the end of the day the lure be it hard body or skirt goes in and gets washed

Good news & bad news mate. These were made by Shimano but only sold in the U.S for stickbaits. From what I understand they are virtually the same as an X-rap. Unfortunately Shimano discontinued making these tackle boxes. I'm sure there would be other makers for similar tackle boxes so maybe look for stickbait boxes in the U.S
