Let's talk barra lures

Post by ducky » Mon Aug 08, 2016 8:15 pm

As we all know Hazelwood pondage will be open in a few months. I'm keen as mustard to get there and catch a few. Chasing them is completely foreign to me. So let's talk barra lures. Specifically for casting and retrieving. The shopping list is going to be written from here.

No idea at this stage. But between all my jew gear and recent purchases of cod gear I have the tackle covered. Just need to work out a starting point for lures.

Your trout lures should work well too.
I want to try something like a giant dog-x in there but will probably start with my jewie stuff

Yeah I figured that basti. Maz those td's don't run very deep. The double clutch 95's do though. But any excuse to buy some stuff haha. I've got to do a stock up of some old faves that I'm running short on so im checking to see if there's any lures I can add that will be good for barra and probably cod

I'm gonna grab a tn70 or two and maybe some other stuff at this stage.

Livie one of those aquarium fish under a float while slow rolling a weedless hollowbelly. Not that I have any barra experience but that's what I'd do anyway.

those duo's I was looking at for the trout are one of pat's favourites up north, the td minnow should work at the change of light. Personally I'm probably going to try plastics, the duos, my jewie lures and a few surface walkers.
