STORAGE FOR LURES

Post by barks52 » Sat Jun 18, 2016 6:11 am

Hey, I've been looking around for a couple weeks now for large tackle trays which are able to fit large cod lures 100mm plus in them easily? can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks barks52

I'm having the same trouble barks, especially with large surface lures, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Get a pack of loom bands to put around the front n back trebles of each lure n just put em in a plastic container it's what I do I gave up looking for big trays plastic containers are a lot cheaper and u can get them watertight too
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!

I got a big tackle bag with four trays that slide in but the big bibs still don't fit in the trays I just leave them loose in the bag most of my lures get end up stuck on a snag anyway

The 3700 series of Plano stowaway, fit 105mm stumpjumpers. Not sure you'll find anything for larger lures.

picked up a few of these in a CA sale earlier this year. the vertical dividers at the bottom are all removable so you get one big space. surface lures are a PITA

this is a good tip about the bands. Trebles take up so much space otherwise

I use the duel trays they have a slot for the trebles to sit in and you get two compartments in the one tackle tray BCF sell them for $17 but the exact same ones from Kmart minus the Rouge branding only cost $7 each which is a bargain.

Yup, systemia lunch box, rubber bands will do the trick. I have 100 or more surface/diving lures upto 170mm and that's what I ended up doing.
Tried all manner of tackle trays, some are good but the good old lunchbox fits the most...and cheap too.
