Storing Gulp?

Post by safia » Mon Nov 02, 2015 7:15 pm

Hi all
So after a recent Gulp fiasco that left my car smelling like a dirty ball bag... Just wondering how everyone stores their gulp, because the container that they came in seems to be no good

I have found that a rubbish bin works fine! I tried them a while ago...F@#k! I still have a few (unopened packs) but won't be getting them anymore unless I have success when I finally do try them again. Some members who persevere with them will be able to help you out.
cheers

Similar to jim I'm not a huge fan but I have a few packs for certain fishing situations, I have found in the packet in a large ziplock bag works well although I know others use aqua lockers.

I think that's just the nature of gulping. I use it as minimally as possible these days for that very reason. However still have a few packs lying around. Tb worms in pumpkinseed and gulp sandworms in camo.

i used to keep them in a berrocca bottle half full of gulp juice. worked well until dirt and sand got in under the lid and ruined the seal. I don't use gulp any more

If you're serious about it, Plano make a container for storing it. I'll try see if I can find a link!

Edit: Can we post links to stores? Like those that specialise in Boating, Camping and Fishing?

that's the main issue with gulp, the juice just leaks everywhere. I use gulp a lot and they leak no matter what you do.
a couple of zip locks seems to be the go.
I believe plano make a leakproof container for them but I haven't tried it yet.

The plano box is called the "Plano Liquibait" it's about $50 from BCF etc. It's designed to store the specific liquid that gulp uses

I find that I go through a whole packet every time I go fishing, especially the Turtleback worms, they are the best plastic on the market, so as soon as I run out thats it, but I find if you leave them in the packet they seem ok

Go fishing....stuff smells.

The white curltails in 6 inch on a one ounce jighead are responsible for the vast majority of my SP hookups off ledges in the past six months or so. That one and the 6.5 nemises in pink.

I like the turtleback worms as well. Don't think a light plastic has produced so consistently for me.

As for storing them? I keep all my gulps in a seperate ziplock back still in their little packets. The packaging on gulps is sh t but a second ziplock at least means they aren't going to spill all over my bag. I try and rig the gulp first then all my other gear second, just so my hands smell like gulp and not whatever else was on them before i start handling other stuff.

i've been leaning more towards squidgee's and z mans, but haven't found an SP for rock ledge casting better than the gulp yet.
