Lure Modifications
Has anyone got some DIY lure modifications that they want to share?
I'll start us off I had some spare time and some googly eyes so what else should I do but glue them onto some cod surface lures I have!
This could have turned out much worse knowing myself and superglue's insane sticking properties

Re: Lure Modifications
In the same boat as purple with the sharpie and nail polish. Have also tied stingers to use on some lures or added wool to the trebles of some spinners bulk to the lure but nothing too extreme. Have seen some awesome homemade modifications to lures that have had very mixed results in practice.
Forget to mention the creation of new soft plastic colours by accidentally mixing colours, one of my current favourites is a colour I call motormelon red.

Re: Lure Modifications
I have done heaps to personalised my lures: -
1) adding luminous glow in the dark paint to deep water jigs >150g
2) Adding reflective sitckers to jigs which have only glow paint
3) Changing trebles to singles on poppers & (floating & sinking )stickbaits
4) Spraying lacquers on lures to protect the colours from chipping off from trebles scuffs & bite marks
5) Adding tinsel to singles to alter the action of sinking stickbaits
6) Replacing eyes on jigs/hardbodies that came off after a few fish
7) Putting "eyes" on jigheads to increase its appeal to fish
8) Putting extra eyes on jigs to allow fish to hone in for the kill (some jigs only come with jig on one side but not the other)

Re: Lure Modifications
I have used my hobby paints to brighten up colours from time to time.
Was checking out the 3D printer Bunning's have at the moment with ideas of maybe making my own lures.....but figured it was a tad expensive to play with. Would need to make a whole lot of lures to make it worth while......

Re: Lure Modifications
If you could make a decent copy of those $60 lures it would pay for itself pretty fast.ChrisD wrote:I have used my hobby paints to brighten up colours from time to time.
