A little bit. I fish for bream using lures - both hardbodies and soft plastics.

Best way to start is to pick a species (or two max) and focus on lures and techniques for that specific fish. What are you wanting to chase?

Land based fishing I would probably go to Patterson lake and have a flick there other wise I would be going out on my kayak near Oliver's hill so that would be flatheads and salmon mostly.

if you want salmon at patto, use the small flickbait you have (pilly colour) on a 1/8th or 1/4 oz jig head, cast out and let it sink. once on the bottom, start a constant retreive with a few flicks and twitches included every couple of turns of the handle so the lure rises up through the water. anywhere from the mouth of the river proper, to under the bridge, and a good 50m upstream has been producing at various times

If you want salmon any where else but a shiny metal between 5 and 65g depending in your rod, cast it at the water and reel it in real fast

Hi Damian,

Nice selection of Soft Plastics there. (missing a few of ours though lol)

I don't know if you know mate, but you get 20% off at Specialty Fishing Products the forum sponsor.

If you are still after some jigheads, we have a range of sizes that will fit those plastics you have there. They are made on Japanese hooks too, ultrasharp.

We also have some nice silver or gold metal slices for salmon that start at $4.80 DELIVERED.

Instructions to get your discount are just below my name.

Cheers mate, and happy Salmon fishing :-)
Amanda
