keep the rod tip up, should still splash on the surface if retrieved fast enough.

I might pick one up next time i'm in a buying mood. Bit heavy for the T-curve as well.

Rapala SP-12 Skitterpops come in at 12cm & 40gr if that's any help to you.

I think the larger heavier ones will float, and the smaller lighter ones.

I'm in the process of modifying some of these halco's to turn them into 'jet' poppers. Will post results when i get them

It's probably just physics, a lure above a certain weight but below a certain length is simply too dense to float.
