Gulp Soft Plastics

Post by adbert » Fri Feb 27, 2015 6:42 pm

G'day all,
I've been reading up feedbacks on soft plastics here and watched youtube on how they're used.

So far, I understand minnow (grub?) is popular. I went out a bought a pack today. Question is, is this use for saltwater fishing? Some packs/types clearly labelled as salt and fresh water. This one is not. I assume it can be used anywhere.

I read it from here. People been saying pumpkinseed is the killer so I went for it. However, not sure about minnow. Is it just minnow or minnow grub? I bought minnow grub because of the tail (good reviews from youtube) [emoji2]

As a newbie to soft plastics, I've planned to use these soft plastics with these hooks. I'll reduce the weight as I get more experienced with soft plastics.

I'm trying to build up my experience with SPs. If they really work then I'll minimise the use of real baits whenever possible.

ill be honest its way better then bait only because each time you reel the SP you feel something chasing and biting it. Almost makes you feel like a hunter heheh

but i love bait fishing to much though :), although i think i might but another set of SP and try and start doing it.

When you cast the SP how long do you wait for it sink? for arguments sake lets say were in 6m depth

That depends on what you're fishing for, and where in the water they're feeding. Flatties are on the bottom so get right down there, salmon may even be on the surface
