I know of one that came out of the eastern side in a bream comp. But have only ever heard of that single fish. Trust me I'd target them anywhere but ppb. I'd still be bloody amazed if the accidental catch was a ppb perch haha

Large Eps have definitely been confirmed / caught in the Patterson Lakes system. I've heard the Werribee has them too. Are they in the Yarra? I might have to do some exploring upstream in Abbotsford, methinks ...

EP are in the metro estuary systems that run into ppb.

They are meant to be pretty decent eating never caught one let alone eaten one myself. Considering how rare they are to catch though i would be letting it go to get bigger and breed :thumbsup:

They are exceptional table fish - and not necessarily 'rare' so much as rarely fished for (particularly in Gippsland where I've caught them in the past). My PB at Marlo many years ago was 50cm and 1.85kg - a very memorable fish!
