Savage gear crabs

Post by sloth » Fri Jan 09, 2015 9:51 am

So they've hit the shelves at bcf (or out the back if not on the shelf). I just picked up a couple of packs of the pre-rigged ones to test .... Anyone else tried them and thoughts?

they look good, just as long as they stand up to toadies. the Marukyu crabs get smashed too fast

I'm keen to give them a go. I like how they (should) sit up in the water, similar to the cranka's. Good value also!

Softer than anticipated I must admit. I've been told though that they're more like zmans elaztech material than standard sp stuff. I'll feedback on that when I've had chance to throw them. Have a local spot that works great with cranka crabs for bream - when conditions are right I'll hit it with these guys and see what happens :)

Yeah josh - the four came to $23 so roughly the price of a cranka. Going to be down to how many fish they can hold up to. I like the look of the jigheads ... Going to try one of the savage jigheads with a marukyu as well for comparison. Don't see any crankas on the horizon so hunt is seriously on now for the best alternative. Marukyu have worked for me but wouldn't say they've smashed them like the crankas did

Well ... Yeah ... If I was bait fishing I'd probably do the same. But since I only fish with lures I'll have to make do ;)

They look worth a crack, a few fish would hit those I reckon.

I haven't been able to find the marukyu ones near me so hopefully these turn up at the local.

Marakyu I've only seen in the independent tackle shops - I grab mine at compleat. Savage gear should be in all the bee cee eff stores ...
