As has been mentioned Zmans are the best. Not too long ago I was on a patch of 45cm+ salmon for an hour and landed 15odd on the same Diezel Minnow.

Gulp turtleback worms used to be my go to pinky plastic, but just got so sick of replacing them so I've moved on to the 3.5" zman grub and they seem to work just as well.

Toads or those leatherjacket packs that hang around sometimes will smash squidgies too. Zman seems to bounce right back

Cheers for all the info I'll definitely pick up a range of Zman lures then and maybe some hard bodied lures too to mix it up a bit. As I'm new to this sea fishing stuff it's kind of trial and error at the moment with quite a lot of error!!! Got quite excited thinking I was getting bites then obviously striking,bringing it in and just have 3-4 fish chasing the lure and just taking chunks off.
