Mainly it’s hard to find a really small light roller bearing snap swivel that will not affect the lures action, lure clips are very lightMattblack wrote:Are there many benefits with a lure clip over a snap swivel?Nude up wrote:I use a lure clip for squid jigs and small hard bodies. Roller bearing snap swivel for larger hard bodies and larger soft plastics but for light soft plastics I tie them on using a loop knot

I use a tiny little mustad snap for squidding and a slightly bigger one for salmoning.

Re: Snap swivels vs knot straight to the lure?
I use these on my trout sessions in the rivers.. These are the smallest ones I could find, hasn't had any effect on the lures at all and has never stopped me from catching trout.. When you get to my age it's much quicker way to change the lures over than struggling to tie the line to a small lure..Plus I don't take my reading glasses with me anyway just in case I lose or break them. I can still see well enough to tie the line, just takes a while to gets the eyes to focus .. I regularly keep changing a lure or blade spinner until I find one the trout want, saves me a lot of time..
