G'day gents,

I was wondering what are good knots to learn how to tie? I only know how to do the shoelace knot and it works always but I thought I should learn some more! I am also wondering is there different knots you must use on lures compared to hooks? I seem to use the clip on sinkers more now because I cannot tie them on properly..

Any suggestion/video to any knots would be fantastic!

Cheers boys.

I second that ! it will teach you better and with pictures rather than someone describing it to you..

I agree with the suggestion of the Geoff Wilson book. Make sure it's not the game fishing one though, you probably don't need to know how to crimp 400lb leader.

Also, learn this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjzUb5QRKuk

I do a lot of varied stuff and I use a few knots commonly and a couple every now and then.

Centauri knot all terminal connections. (So easy it's ridiculous and doesn't damage line as easily if tied poorly unlike a blood or uni knot)

Kreh knot for looped connections to lures.

Tagless dropper loop for bait fishing.

Learn those on YouTube and you won't need to learn too many more until you start screwing around with braid. Don't do that till you've got mono sorted though.
