Yes.
Maz the 12 is perfect. Make sure you spool it tight or get Frank to do it on his spooler.

I've got all my reels spooled with relatively new ygk atm but I plan to buy a 450m spool of the 12lb and put 150m on my 3 2500's sometime in the next yearDougieK wrote:Basti wrote:the tasline in the lighter strains was a different product. from what i understand, it's still being sold as SAS braid but is no longer tasline. I wouldn't be talking too loudly about ygk around Doug and Ads, both had very bad experiences with it.Rustie wrote:What are the difference between tasline and YGK Johnson x8 ??

Re: Daiwa Vs Shimano Again...
James ygk is thinner I think. Would probably be around pe2 in 30lb would be my guess. If you look at the actual breaking strain though, the ygk 50lb is pe 3, very similar to tasline "30lb" which breaks at 49lb. But ygk doesn't handle abrasion very well. From what Doug and others have told me tasline is very good at abrasion for a braid.
Fwiw, I have 6 reels spooled with the jigman from 0.6 to 1.5 pe and see no reason to change the line on these for the work that they do. I have however been to see frank and spooled up my saragosa with his 30lb. Yet to fish with it so can't give you a personal experience.

Re: Daiwa Vs Shimano Again...
I think YGK is thinner but doesn't hold up to abrasion very well. I really like it on the yak but had issues using it landbased because it wasn't up to fishing in heavy reef or rocks. I have had some issues with windknots in the 20lb tasline but I spooled that reel myself and it is most likely to do with that rather than a problem with the braid.Rustie wrote:What are the difference between tasline and YGK Johnson x8 ??
