Inline hooks for lures

Post by Trumpeter » Thu Aug 04, 2016 10:29 pm

Hi All

What's your preferred single inline hook? I want to replace the trebles on my lures, mainly metal slices and slugs used for Salmon. Mustad kaiju, Owner, VMC, Gama?

Cheers

I like gamakatsu inline singles but they only come up to a 2/0 (their 2/0 is slightly too small for 50gm+ slugs) decoy jigging singles for larger lures

Thanks, most of my lures are smaller than 50g, what are the Gama's like with corrosion?

I haven't had an issue so far but I typically wash my lures under freshwater at the end of a session.

Cool, what size would you recommend on 25-35g metals -2/0?

depends on the size of the fish but if you look at the pic the outcast 40g is about the same size as a 25-30g metal

so 1 , 1/0 , 2/0 again depends on the size of the fish , if there bigger fish and you have the smaller hook the hook up

rate will be higher but the drop rate will be higher as well so it pays to have the same size metal with different size

hooks .

EDIT oops the pic is wrong the only slug with KIAJU is the top one and the others are gammas

As a newbie to the finer arts of lure fishing what's the difference between using a single hook or a treble?
Sorry for asking a question so early in the post that does not have anything to do with the original post
