If the hook hits home, they tend to stick well, but too easy for a big & wise finicky fish to spit them out imo. Depends on the situation.

Yeah if they're finicky, striking with a standard hook may be a better option but circles definitely hold well, I sometimes find them difficult to remove from the fish but the beauty is they're nearly always jaw hooked. To make the most of circles they should be snelled to the leader and baited without obstructing the barb.

I find it hooks them through the corner of the mouth quite nice and secure, I think long line fisherman used circle hooks because the beasts don't get off.
It would be interesting to see what hooks the long line fishos use compared to the ones available to us.

Because thats a pretty big circle. All the owner mutu big game circles i got look like that. Like in the 8/0 - 12/0 size.

That one in the picture looks like its a Mustard big game circle.

Awesome hooks for sharks.

Circle hooks are all I use. It's a bit of a lazy way to fish but when bait fishing I don't mind.

Also, it makes it easy to release fish as they are hooked in the corner of the jaw as others have mentioned. I find the KL range to be a solid hook... Never lost a fish that was hooked... Another thumbs up from me

I've bought the bulk packs from this guy in the past. An entire seasons worth of whiting hooks for $23 seems pretty decent.
