A bright idea for cod anglers

It didn't take long for Ballista Lure's James Daintan to get the attention of anglers as guest speaker at Bendigo Legion angling club.
James has been developing and importing his distinctive lures since 2009, with a range of lures featuring a flashing LED that activates when submerged.
Ballistas range of lures that now include surface poppers and crawlers, with a range of diving lures suitable for Murray cod and Golden Perch as well lures for Barra,Bass and a range of salt water pieces.

I am certain they will catch fish simply with the action and color of the lures. I am sceptical regarding the flashing red LED light. I have seen some of their publicity where they have deeper diving lures and they say the flashing red light then is a bonus. Red is the first color that gets 'lost' at depth (perhaps as shallow as 2 metres), as in it may appear 'grey' or 'black'. Not sure how well a flashing 'black' light is going to show at depth. Just something I wonder about.

Jim the red light will still appear red as the led is generating the light. at depth however it will be pretty much the only red colour.

Interesting...good point! But I will still be giving them a miss! :) I know a couple people who have used them with no luck.

Cod don't grow that big by being fussy so I'm sure they would take them
