Storm Sinkers

Post by Wolly Bugger » Wed Jul 18, 2012 1:18 pm

Storm sinkers are now available for purchase.

They look very similar to the rocket sinker but heaps cheaper.
sizes from 2 to 6 ozs.

I have still to work out prices, but they will be cheaper than what can be purchased in the shops.

oops, Vinhii started it and those bored people (like me) went with the flow.

errrrr, how much and is it made of lead or some kind of ferrous metal (you know the one that says - biodegradable a.k.a. rust magnet)

Will this one hold bottom? (dont feed on this one) I mean, will this stay in place in the surf better than traditional star sinker? If side current is strong, I prefer the use garpnel type of sinkers. I make my own so I simply add some wires to make a garpnel.

What are the advantages?

firstly they are more aerodynamic than the common star sinker. hence being able to cast a little further. There are rocket shape sinkers already out there, but the swivel tends not to last very long.

The connection in the Storm sinkers is much more solid.

Secondly the star sinker tends to tumble in flight robbing distance. Some anglers prefer the pyramid sinker.

They are a cheaper than the grapple sinker.

As too holding ability, there are times when you want your bait to be swept into the hole, as your casting may be a bit off.

Apart from a sea anchor nothing beats the grapple for holding power, but there are times when your sinker lands in a shallow area, where ideally you do not want it to stay.

Now if you continue to hassle the price will double just for you
