Spiderwire braid.

Post by Rod Bender » Wed Jul 29, 2015 10:47 am

Hi peoples
Wondering if any one has any knowledge of the reliability of the Spiderwire brand of braid. I have a couple spools to do and was looking at using Power Pro. However, the local CA store has some Spiderwire 'camo' braid which is pretty cheap from memory. As it is going on a couple reels which will just be left in the car for that after work reddie session etc, for convenience, am thinking of just grabbing this rather than stuffing around (I don't have a credit card)....and will grab something better later for my other outfits. The dull color I am happy with as I'm not a fan of hi-vis stuff for what I do in freshwater...so...unless someone knows the brand is ****, I may try it.
Thanks in advance
Jim

I reckon give it a try I had the older spiderwire stealth on a rod a couple of yrs ago and would put it in the same class as the old power pro.

I used it a while back, got fluffy after a bit but caught a lot of trout/reddies/squid on there.

Was it the 'camo' you used Doug or another one of their braids? I hate braid that fluffs up!
cheers
