Sunline FC Rock fluorocarbon leader.
Hi peeples
I currently use Daiwa TDR fluro for my freshwater fishing, well for the lighter applications anyway. Am I happy with it...hard to say as I haven't used much else for a comparison! It does seem to scuff up, or turn white in what I would think would be not too long a time in use. Are others then same, I wouldn't know.
It has been brought to my attention that the FC Rock fluro leader has been removed from the shelves at the local CA tackle store and is going to end up in the bargain bin or on sale. This will bring its price down to compete with online stores. I haven't used it but have heard good things about it. In a nutshell, should I buy some and try it? Happy to hear from anyone that has used it, or has knowledge of friends who use it.. There is no point in suggesting other brands as they are not likely to be appearing in a 'bargain bin' near me!
Also, it has something written on it along the lines of 'saltwater special' or similar. What would that be about? Is the refractive index of saltwater different to freshwater? :dontknow Or just 'marketing' crap?
cheers
Jim
Edit. I should point out that one of the locations I use the Daiwa fluro is very rocky and abrasion enhancing!

I don't know about the refractive index the fresh but I use it in 4lb for bream and 14lb for squid, salmon, flathead and love it.
I can't help but think they'll push the Icon brand they stock which I think is there own.
Cheers

Overpriced I guess! $20...but I figure if it goes at 25% off, then that will make it comparable to online...or Motackle anyway!ducky wrote:What's the price Jim? I love fc rock

$20 for how many metres/yards? FC is has some good leaders. I would be looking at getting some, even if you don't use it immediately, at least you know you have some back up fluro leaders.

I've got a couple of rolls.
As good as anything else I've used.

Prefer yamatoyo these days but used to use fc rock and there's certainly nothing wrong with it. Good line
