Im still on the fence about the whole clips for hardbodies and plastics. For squid jigs I use them. Same for slugs.
Clips for Hards (replaces the split ring) and fish-n-fool to the sp jighead for me. I have clipped to an sp but only when I'm being really lazy and want to quickly try an sp when I've been throwing hards

does it affect the way they swim and I should get some of those snap clips?

I find the ones above tend to not click in properly, especially after trying to get a snag out they go out of shape.
I use these ones in the boat....for plastics n squid jigs.

i use decoy round snaps 00 on bream hb, coastlock snap swivels on slugs, and breaden clips for squid. everything else is a uni knot or rapala loop. need to learn a better loop knot as i can't seem to ever get the rapala to sit right.

Thanks for all the thoughts guys.
The snaps I am thinking of using can be seen at http://www.daiwafishing.com.au/8-snap/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; they are apparently used without a swivel. I got a cuppla packets from Ray & Annes Tackleshop - Gekkabijin 8 Snap. Very small about 5-6mm long and 3-4mm across so a bit fiddly. They do however slip easily thru guides.

I wouldn't be putting any snaps or clips through the guides. It's a sure way to make fishing very expensive.

X2! Put a bead behind it so its blocked from entering the top guide

I really wouldn't be suggesting to add a bead before the clip to someone who is Lure fishing. Bait yes. Lure no. Is a good idea but I wouldnt do it when lure fishing.

In all honesty I've used clips before and almost always end up tied straigjt to splitrings that come with the Lure itself. Never had any problems.
Why don't the lure manufacturer just do without the rings. Would make things a lot easier then. Just tie on a clip and keep.changing lures... Now if you have to keep changing over the split rings need to be removed first.

Anything extra on the line when fishing with a lure is a hinderance. That's the only reason.
Some beads are heavy enough to sink in their own. Combine that with a suspending hard body lure and its a sure way to waste your time.
This would be ideal though for a salmon slug. Where a constant fast retrive is the only way. Wouldnt wirk well for a bream or other simular species. ...
But hey your more than welcome to try it. I personally wouldnt.

I any case I don't really know why people would use a lure clip when bait fishing anyway. Keep it simple is always the best.
