Black Magic KS hooks.

Hi guys.

I was just wondering if u guys know what type of hook this is? Circle, suicide, ect?

Main reason im asking is coz im not sure if u strike with this hook or if u can leave them kinda like circle hooks n let them hook themselves or what.

Strike! this isn't a circle, the KL is a circle. with circle hooks, the point will be pointing directly at the shank.

I've used KL's and I treat them as a circle. The KS's look more or a suicide to me. Personally, I'd still give the fish a chance to hook itself and not strike.

I'm sure others will argue the alternative. I've struck using circles in the past too. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Go with your instinct.

I tend to lift into it when Im holding the rod n its worked pretty good but lately ive been using more than one rod n bait fishin abit more but the ones that hit the rod in the holder havent hooked up.

I figured thats just fishin but then again. Maybe im using the wrong hooks.

So, what hooks would u guys use for rods that are gonna sit in a rod holder?

Owner Mutu or BM KL for whiting - I'd say the Mutus have an edge, feeling more streamlined; Gamakatsu Octopus Circle for snapper, although I also use the Owner Cutting Point SSW hooks (suicide form) in lieu with a percievably similar rate.

I've been using these hooks for bream, I reckon they work great.
I find they do need a bit of a strike though to set the hook.
