Got me a pair of Fin-Nor Ahab 20 reels , after sampling them i was quite pleased with their very solid build & machine shop like construction & tolerance's & not like a just off the mass production line reel . so i will use these reels with my 12ft rods i use on breakwall's & pier's for Snapper etc , i havent used them yet so i cant give a proper report yet . they feel like they are very well built & will last a lifetime , i look forward to putting em to good use soon .
p.s As Fin-Nor quotes = "Conquer the Sea"

Re: Fin-Nor Ahab 20
what a bad name on that reel AHAB? Ahab in biblical history was the worst king of Israel's northern kindom. I just hope that when Fin-n chose that name, they are not implying that this is their worst product.
Nice sinker.

Re: Fin-Nor Ahab 20
I've also got a couple of Fin Nor Ahab 20s.
Been using em for the past 2-3 years on Kings down Portland way & also chasing big gummys down the southern end of PPB.
They're definitely great reels. Lovely smooth drag on em.
The only complaint I have is that adjusting the drag when there's a decent fish ripping line off the reel is a bit fidly.
Apart from that they are great reels IMO. Definite Fin Nor quality.
