Daiwa Ballistic Spinning reels

Post by CremeDeLaCreme » Thu Sep 29, 2011 1:16 pm

Hi guys,

These Daiwa Ballistic spinning reels are due to be released soon.
Possibly priced around $300??
I am after opinions from someone who knows their tackle.

Are these any good and which size to get for snapper season?

Cheers

Ballistic

The new high speed Ballistic is Daiwa’s second introduced reel that features the unique design to exclude water called “Oil Seal”.
Oil Seal is the the solution to saltwater intrusion and corrosion prevention. By placing a new high density cellulose seal impregnated with water resistant oil inside the “capsule body”. water and salt intrusion is now a thing of the past. Unlike “o-ring” seals which create friction, Oil Seal not only prevents water intrusion but it also provides smoother revolution to the rotor system and increases sensitivity. Anglers will feel more connected to lures, detect more bites and fight fish with ease. Real design and real technological development for ‘reel sensitivity’.
Ballistic spinning reels also use many of Daiwa’s latest innovations in particular Air Rotor and Zaion but also ABS II and UTD (ultimate tournament drag) to name a few.
The new Ballistic is simply an instrument to fish, it overflows with innovations and signifies the future of the modern spinning reel.

Spot on!

Now just gotta decide which size?

2500 for my squid whiting pinkie rod

or

4000 for Snapper, etc

decisions, decisions...

Does anyone think the 2500 will be good for snapper with 200 meters of 8-10lb braid?

^^
2500 will catch a decent Snapper , but go the 3000 or 4000 for extra line capacity & stronger drags .

I Landed my first snapper on a 2500 daiwa reel spooled with 8 pound line. Was lots of fun and got it in with no hassle.
