Nick,

only $8500 trade in value for your tub? I'll take it for $9000, trailer and outboard included, installment, $1 a day. :lolf: I get sea sick so it will be useless to me but my garage will look nice if I have a tub in there.

How much did they quote you for the bimini? $200? Can you just use a bimini twist instead? :lolf:

:surrender: Just mocking around to forget my (mis)fortune today. I burnt $500 in RSPCA to get a dog skin specialist look at my Golden R's allergy. There goes 2 x Stradic CI4 reels. :angryfire: and the vet wants me to go back again in 3 weeks. That will be another $500, I bet. :wall:

Hi Earl,

No the bugger wouldn't give me a price over the phone or unless they see it. I spoke to them person to person and I need to take it off the boat and take it to them, they tell me that they will replace that whole section of tubing.
  That part of the bimini goes from up one side of the boat down over to the other. I didn't think it was such a big deal, the bloody thing still stands fairly straight but has a whole in the canvas that need fixing as well, which they said they would just patch and sew up over it
I have been scared to do it for 6 months, when I spoke to this guy ( have also spoken to others since ) but he is much closer to me in Scoresby. What scared me was the look in his eyes, like I was a whale carcass ready to feed off for a month. BUt I got to get it fixed right otherwise its just under $2000 to replace it and the clears.
Bloody scary thought but will have to bight the bullet, take it off and to him and get a proper quote.

As someone that has had dogs for 25 odd years ( not at this moment ), President of a Dog Club and Dog Judge I know what it's like to keep Pure Breed Dogs, between the dogs I always was broke taking them to vets nearly every week and not to mention emergencies, one night it cost me $3500 to operate on the dogs stomach as he bloated up and only 30% chance to live as other organs might have gone toxic. But they want the money 1st, they took my credit card and maxed it out.
I was lucky and he lived nearly another 2 years before he was back in there with Thyriod Cancer and needed it removed out of his chest and then chemo.
Another $2500 there, but I would have paid anything for this one particular dog even though I had a few Rotties at the time, he was special. Even with the surgery and chemo they said it might give him 6-9 months, well he lasted 2 1/2 years longer and cost me another $3000 in vet bills at the end.
Do it again...in a heart beat, he was my mate and saved my life.
We have had other dogs that needed a fair bit of vet visits, and its when you see the specialist vets that the money just pours out of the back pocket.
Those specialist vets, OMG how can they charge like they do ?
A friend had to take her dog to one in Mt Waverly for a second opinion on the dogs leg...should have stayed with the 1st opinion.
Gave the same answers and possible outcomes as the normal vet that charged her $80, the Specialist charged just over $900 in 45 mins but $500 of that was for a CT of the leg. Now giving Cat Scans to animals
Anyway, Good luck with the dog, I hope they find the problem and it's easily fixed,

cheers

Don't worry, the Ci4 are over rated anyway, so you will be fine with what you have.

wooo. :whoh: $2000 for the bimini canvass and clear? That is highway robbery. I sew up all the curtains in my place. We bought the materials for about 10% of what we will pay if we buy the set made locally. I cut to length everyone's jeans around here so are the kid's uniforms. What costs $30 in the shops cost me less than $0.50 for the thread. What I am trying to say is "learn the trade" and you will save money in the long run. If I have a heavy duty sewing machine, I will probably have a look at your bimini and we will give it a try. Sometimes, trial and error works. Buy the cheapest material, try it and once everything is OK, go big time.

Pink should be fine :roflmao:

I refer a color that is not too visible.....thieves love yellow and orange. They may have second thoughts stealing the pink one. :lolf:
