Great tips just reloaded 3 reels. All slightly different set ups. 6 pound Light braid trout freshwater rod, 15 pound braid all rounder rod, 30 pound light nylon for chasing Cod. Figure the bigger two both okay for the piers as well.

Was it Spinning Fluoro or Leader Fluoro. It does make a difference, one is designed to be a leader and nice and springy while the other is designed with low stretch and almost no memory.

Good point.
Many people aren't aware that there are differing types of fluro for use as main line or leader & just use spinning fluro for everything.
Does make quite a difference.

It was Nitlon brand and it came in a 100m spool. I'm not at home now so can't check exact type. I assumed at the time it was 'spinning' fluro. Since I have witnessed my fluro leader going 'white' with nicks, abrasion etc I have decided not to spool it with fluro straight thru.
thanks

After trying and failing to tie some nitlon 4lb fluro to my braid for use tomorrow I've decided to #1 use the slightly thicker 6lb dedicated leader fluro I had at hand. And #2 spool the reel with straight through flurocarbon tomorrow. Just gotta go to the tackle store down here that has a spooling machine cos I'm a lazy bastard and prefer the results of the spooling machine. One day ill buy/make myself one.

I am happy to stand corrected but I thought Nitlon was just a leader line in large spool size, you will find it very springy and will not hold the spool.

I think you would be correct! I was fooled by the larger spool size! The line just wanted to offload from the spool.
