Don't think there's a baitcast rod that light in Aus.
You gonna have to buy from overseas, like my Majorcraft FineTail rod.
Plus you need a good baitcast reel to be able to cast light.

This is pretty specialist gear and not something I would recommend starting out. imo you are far better off spending the money on a moderately nice spin outfit and having some change left over. Baitcast reels that can cast the typical trout lure are rather expensive

A BFS outfit is generally going to cost around 500 to have setup on the cheaper side and then it is going to be rather limited in what it can do. For 500 you can get a pretty nice spin setup sorted out that covers a much wider range of applications. I'm not saying don't get bfs outfits, I have two of them, but I am suggesting you are better off spending that money on other fishing gear at this point in time

I agree with Mazman.
Probably best to spend money on an outfit that is more versatile at your stage.
For me, I have pretty much gears for diff types of fishing. But initially I did spend $$ on a good versatile gears before getting into more specific gears with spare $$.

But again, it's your money. If you got a spare and don't mind spending for a specific gear, no one is stopping you.

I recommend watch few YouTube videos and see few options on what you want to do before buying.

i prefer spin for lighter lure casting and mainly use baitcast for cod lures these days.
good luck with your search.

Even with the ultimate BFS system you are going to get birdnests. Have a look on amazon, there are some cheaper reels like the alderban that are very good, as well as some nice light rods. If I was going to buy a BFS system, I wouldn't pay under 6 or 7 hundred bucks. You can remove one of the magnets on the Alderban and you will have a reel that works just like the more expensive ones., With the money you would have to spend, you could get the ultimate spin finesse reel and rod

P.S Stop watching American youtube fishing videos
