Rovex endurance or abu gracia?

Post by saph » Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:08 pm

I will admit right away im a noob at fishing reels all i know how to do with them is spool and cast but choosing one or figuring out their many specs is just way over my head and maybe thats why i like my alveys, anyways back to topic

Rovex endurance or abu garcia black max, im looking at these since i want something small that i can take from my squid to whiting all the way to mangrove jacks if i decide and i want something that is light aswell so i can put it on my telescopic rod though most of the time it will live on my squid rod.

any advice is wonderful.

They both aren't really mid or top end reels. Wont be much different. But I think Abu Garcia max has more ball bearings?
The more the better (smoother).

yea wasnt looking for mid or top end stuff since i dont like spending silly amounts for it just want something that can handle me and what i put reels through and carrying a alvey in a small backpack is not a easy task. They both say they have a 3+1 ball bearing system (shouldnt they just say 4 then?).

Okay then. They both around $50 - $60 rrp. With luck, you may get a good reel at clearance price. For example, Tackleworld Cranbourne and Mornington is having a sale atm, Paul is celebrating 30th Tackleworld birthday or something like that.
Who knows you might get a better reel and will last a lot longer.

Otherwise, probably abu max than rovex. Rovex can be a bit 'plastic-y'.

Do yourself a favour and grab one of these. A bit heavier than the ones you’re looking at but you’re looking at some pretty plastic-y reels there and this one is 100% metal. Really nice carbon drag on them too.

Have you considered a shimano sienna maybe in a 2500 size.
It will be perfect for your application.
Value for money reel and can be easily replaced if needed.

Thanks guys ill let you know of the outcome

I actualy have a sienna and yea i aggree they are value for cash but i dont want to double up on reels that look the same since i just grab and go a fair bit and it would be to confusing for me to track 2 sienna reels hell its hard for me to keep track of what rod is what at times.
