Multi-purpose combo?

Post by Mattblack » Thu Oct 25, 2018 7:17 am

If you were only allowed to own one rod & reel combo to satisfy all your fishing needs, what would it be?
(I know there is no such thing as a genuine multi-purpose rod, but with the way technology is progressing we must be getting close)

I haven't found it yet, it's like the Holy grail of rods, you'll know when you find it.

It will be on a rack on it's own, there will be like an ora of light around it ( don't look directly into the light ! )

You will hear monks chanting faintly. You must then drop to you knees and recite 3 hail Mary's and give thanks to the Rod God.

That's how I see it when I finally find the perfect rod.
He who has the most fishing rods WINS ! :ts:

If I could only have one rod for everything it would be a 7ft 5kg spin stick with a 4000 size reel.

If technology is going the way it's going, we should have a Transformer rod combo soon. It will make that mechanical transformer sound and presto your desired rod for the application is there. Also can transform into a badass robot bumblebee and blast off some of them annoying fishos on the pier with its cannons.

yup I use my 2-4kg bream spinning outfit, for floating whitebait for Gars, soaking bread for carp, then i up the ante and use it for for being undergunned for perchin and bassin, or throwing 3/8 Oz placcies for snapper, or tie on a 60gm slug or a 4 oz lead and pillies to donk some surf sambos, then tie on a 200gm popper for GT, or a 250 gm knife jig of rip Kings, then i calm thing right down and take it fly fishing.
Yep My 2-4 stick is a freakin gem. :victory:

Pretty much this

It's capable of catching almost anything other than large game

Although didn't PW catch a 200kg mako on something very similar? So there you go... the ultimate all rounder

No boat here. Use my 6-10 902 Coastal Revolution for pretty much everything. The other half has hijacked my squid rod so I'm fishing for everything from squid and whiting to casting stickbaits off rock ledges, coupled with a Biomaster 5k and 20lb tasline. Just change leaders accordingly. Even landed a little Kingie on it in NSW
