JW Rod and Mitchell Reel

Post by davek » Mon Sep 24, 2018 3:29 pm

Received a Jarvis Walker Flinders rod with a Mitchell 301A reel from my brother in-law yesterday. It's in pretty good nick for being in a shed for years, cheers davo.

I got an old fly reel, and a similar reel was being flogged off as an antic for few hundred dollars, I offered to sell him mine for the same price, but he would buy it.

I won't be selling this one, it belonged to my brother in-laws father, it would be an insult to him to sell it, cheers davo

It looks like a great set up for bait fishing fishing for yellas and cod.

They last forever if you give them an annual service. The main item that needs replacement is the bail spring:

I carry one in my kit for my Mitchell 300.

Best Wishes
