Shimano Sonic Pro 4-6kg Snapper rod

Post by Thomassssss » Mon Aug 13, 2018 1:13 pm

Just picked up a Shimano Sonic Pro 4-6kg Snapper rod second hand and I'm wondering what size reel you would recommend pairing it with? I'm moving down to Tassie early next year and want to get into some saltwater fishing, maybe target a bit of salmon or snapper. I'll do a bit of pier fishing as well as in a dinghy. I've got a lighter set up that I intend to use for flathead, bream etc.

Cheers.

Tom.

 It would be nice paired up with a Sienna 2500 and some 12lb braid. Or something a little nicer? Ultegra. 1 on Gumtree at the moment for $160.

Thanks for the responses.

A mate just gave me a sienna 4000. Do you reckon that’ll go alright?

sienna 4000 will be just fine if you want to upgrade later shimano 4000oc baitrunner they cast well and you have the added baitrunner feature which is handy for pier fishing and you can pick them up for $110 bucks
