Both are quality reels so go with what feels best for you on the rod you intend to use it on.
Isn't the sustain like 400$ reeel n BG about 180 ish reel...
Bloody hope sustain would be nicer considering price difference...

Yes but it's the closest comparison I have had to the bg not like I was comparing it to a Stella. The stradic is like $70 more than a bg.
You can still find last years sustains for not much different in price to a stradic plus has the bigger handle which most people rather.

bg doesn't have a removable knob and comes with a flat knob. stradic wins on this account. howver i'd suggest going the non ci4+ stradic, in the 5k. they come with a round knob and should be a slightly better comparison price wise. consider retrieve ratio too

Bayrock wrote:I got my BG3000 after reading Alan Hawke’s review and chatting to a mate who does extensive shore spinning in South Africa. His reels work very hard and he has been very happy with his BG for the price paid. Light, smooth and strong drag, only issue for me so far is the handle doesn’t fold which is irritating when I need to pack it away. Early days yet but so far so good.

ducky wrote:They shouldn’t really be compared because they aren’t in the same class. Bg is a lower model. yep iknow that but was wondering if the extra bucks is worth it

I would go the bg to save the cash. Provided the retrieve ratio is high enough and the knob is bigger

I own and use a Stradic ci4 for surf spinning and find the knob too small. The buomaster 5k I use now is the perfect everything. But it’s more expensive again.
yeah but with the biomaster your moving up in size

Just nice to hold a big knob I suppose. You’d know the feeling surely?

Lel

Daz that’s right. I reckon it balances better on the type of rod you’ll cast up to 70gms
