Purchasing a Shimano Stradic Ci4+,

The 1000 or 2500? To be used for bream, perch, trout and flatties, a reel for small estuarine/lake species. spooled with 8lb braid.

Any advice or info appreciated!

Cheers,
Blake

2500, I only know of one rod the 1K balances on and it's 5ft long and light.

Have 2 Stradic Aero 1000's Twin Handle (1994 Model) and 2 x 2500's - Excellent reels, all spooled with 4lb Maxima Green.
Maintained / Serviced regularly - Have had 1 of the Stradic Aero 1000's Twin Handle since 1994 and cannot fault performance. Purchased Rods to suit. Remember that you may only use the first 100Mtrs on line from each real any time - I respool each reel at the start of every Trout season. Either reel would be an excellent choice.

Im not 100% sure, but I have the silver one and it's heavier than the red....I'm sure someone on here will be able to answer this properly though

The ci4 is the FB, the FK isn't ci4.

The answer depends what rod you're putting it on. I just brought a 2500 FB to put on a 1-3kg lox yoshi and it balances well. I think it's more versatile than the 1000.
