Spewin, it started playing up when I was catching salmon around 40cm, I first thought I had a wind knot in the eye of the rod, but no wind knot ,just the reel slightly jammin
Should of just bought a sienna or cheap penn accord

Unless you've done something to it like drop it, target fish well beyond it's capabilities or dunk it in salt water I'd be asking them to fix it under warranty or replace it tbh. Maybe I just expect a lot from my gear but a $200+ reel acting up within a year isn't something that should 'just happen'

Sit in front of the tv and just free wind the reel for a whole 30 minutes+ of your favourite show. If there's no noticeable change then it's highly likely it's the line roller bearing that's fine until a bit of water gets in and screws it again. Cheap part to replace by taking the roller out and removing the tiny circlip then push the bearing out. If it's a bush and not a bearing then a simple clean and replace with light lube works.

If problem shows itself then it's an internal issue of either pinion/shaft bearing or a bit of **** has got into the pinion gear itself and mashed with the main gear and possibly more. That can either result in a clean up and regrease, a new bearing and a regrease or you've damaged the gear teeth and the gears are cactus and need replacing.
