I'm gonna take my rod I got from tackle world and try and exchange it for a low mount reel rod. Think I'll have any luck?

The BCF stores in Geelong have some Alvey reels in stock, I bought a 500B yesterday, using the $10 voucher they sent me it was only $39.99, the reel is the equivalent of about a 2500.

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Bargain at 20 grand, none of the new reels on ebay exist, they just just order them from Alvey and you wait 8 weeks for them to be made.

I just read about Alvey shutting down, this is sad news and a sign of our crazy times.
Should I buy another Alvey while I still can?
I already have a few.

Re: Alvey Reels Australia Closing Down
I'm so sorry to hear hear the bad news about Alvey. It's not only the end of an era for yet another great aussie manufacturer, but the end of an iconic brand which has faithfully served anglers for nearly 100 years with high quality fishing tackle and accessories.
Alvey will be sorely missed! My family has been using Alvey reels for generations and lm confident their reels will continue to live-on for generations to come in the hearts and hands of people like us.
